Reinventing Old Stuff
This weekend was a weekend of YES.
YES to Chik-Fil-A.
YES to a milkshake.
YES to guacamole.
YES to Salted Caramel Cheesecake.
YES to endless bread and butter.
YES to pancakes.
YES to ham stack sandwiches, dripping with melted cheese and 1,000 island dressing.
And NO to working out.
I let myself enjoy a birthday weekend so much that my scale read a number I hadn't seen in over a year. I work out every day, eat healthy, manage portions, but still try to find time to enjoy myself. But this weekend was a doozie: partly because I know that will all change today.
Today my husband and I begin a diet that is so effective, but so drastic, in order to get back to our "happy" weight. Happy meaning comfortable. We have been so happy we have gone to the point of discomfort and no matter what, if you work out and eat unhealthy, you're not at your own personal 100% and for me, it seeps into my mood and well-being. So, off with it! The next three weeks should help bring me back down to size, literally.
I am not only reinventing me, but I am reinventing my closet. This dress is one from LOFT that I loved, still love, but haven't worn because it was too loose. Not today. It fit like a glove! :( In order to make this dress more current and on-trend, I added some of the hottest spring trends to liven it up a bit. the white statement pieces enliven the old standard to a more upbeat, 2018 vibe. A little hint of today in accessories/shoes can breathe new life into your wardrobe, because, let's be real, I am a teacher and we all know teachers don't have the ability to refresh our wardrobes as much as we'd like. I certainly push the envelope, that's for sure.
Now, go reinvent yourself, your wardrobe, and your eating habits for a NEW YOU!
